Attendance list

To save trees, we are saying farewell to the paper attendance list. One of the reasons for having an attendance list was to count the actual number of participants to ensure enough lunches are ordered. The attendance list also contained the name and email of each participant, allowing me to send solutions or any notes to them.

To help me digitize the above information I turned to CoPilot. I asked CoPilot to create a datamodel to track which students have attended a training. CoPilot quickly replied with a simple datamodel and explained why it also provided some relations.

Sublime! Copilot saved me a lot of time with this setup. However, I noticed that some information was missing. A training can be given on-premise or at the default training center. For the participant, I want to register the company, role, and years of experience. Our marketeer also wants to know their business partner and what ERP system is used. So, I asked Copilot to take these wishes into account, and Copilot again answered quickly.

Now that I have this data model, I can implement it in the Power Platform and create some apps for it. Creating apps is described in another blog.

To me, AI or Copilot deserves a permanent place in my toolbox. AI is fast in generating answers, and the quality of the result can be influenced by providing a more specific and detailed description.
